E.J. Holub remembers Super Bowl I appearance in 1967
Today, for Super Bowl 50, millions tuned in to catch the game including one very special former Red Raider who remembers playing in the first ever Super Bowl.
E.J. Holub, Lubbock High, Texas Tech and Kansas City Chiefs great made an appearance in the big game, then named the AFL-NFL World Championship game.
Holub jokes that the term "Super Bowl" wasn't a hit in the beginning.
"People said the Super what? But in the end, I guess it came around."
Although Holub wasn't on the winning team in Super Bowl I against the Packers, he says the greatest memory of that day is getting to celebrate it with his teammates.
"When I first started playing I made some great friends," Holub said. "And they're friends that I still have to this day."
