One killed in head-on collision on FM 400 between Slaton and Wilson

LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - One person has been killed in a head-on collision on FM 400 just two miles south of Slaton.

It happened just after 7:10 a.m. Friday.

Troopers say a Yukon SUV appears to have drifted into the path of a semi tractor trailer.

The driver of the Yukon, 23-year-old Rafael Franco, of Slaton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victor Sanchez was driving the semi and was taken to Covenant with unknown injuries.

Troopers say Franco was heading home from work at the time of the crash.

Officials are still investigating.
