Levelland PD: Marijuana grow operation busted

The Levelland Narcotics Unit was contacted by the Levelland Criminal Investigation Unit Sunday around 4 p.m.
The Criminal Investigation detectives were conducting a warrant search of a residence at 403 12th Street in Levelland, TX, looking for stolen electronics and guns.
While the investigators were on location a marijuana grow operation was located in the basement of the residence. The Narcotic Unit was contacted and another search warrant was obtained for the marijuana operation.
Jazmine Rosel, 26, and Jesus Zendejas, 26, both from California were arrested for Possession of Marijuana (greater than 4 ounce and less than 5 pounds) in a Drug Free Zone. Both subjects recently moved to Levelland from California and both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Hockley County Jail.
Seized in the search warrants were several electronic devices, marijuana plants, and all equipment used to grow the plants. The Criminal Investigation Unit and the Narcotic Unit both expect to make other arrests as a result of this incident.
