LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A key figure in the Mark Ysasaga murder investigation has now been accused of involvement in a shooting, a day before he was arrested for domestic assault.

Christian Castro is thought to be one of the last people to see Mark Ysasaga alive. He received a reward for information that led police to Ysasaga's body.

Castro has not been charged in Mark's murder, but on Tuesday, he was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

The victim, who has a child with Castro, told police that Castro beat her and strangled her after they fought about Castro's use of her vehicle earlier that day. An officer observed a cut on the right side of the victim's lower lip and reported that the right side of her jaw was red and swollen.

The victim said Castro was involved in a shooting incident while driving that vehicle on Monday evening, just before coming to her house.

It happened a little before 8 p.m. at 52nd Street near University, just behind Home Depot.

Castro has not been charged in that shooting, but the victims say the shooter waved a gun at them and fired, damaging one of their vehicles, causing them to fear for their lives.

Castro bonded out of jail on Wednesday morning, but we'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
