New LEDA program looking to bring IT graduates back to Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) has launched a campaign to help fill IT job openings here on the South Plains.

"Return2LBK" is specifically targeting Lubbock natives and college graduates who attended school in the area.

LEDA tells us that they've partnered with Texas Tech University, to target their alumni.

John Osborne, President/CEO of LEDA, says there are too many college graduates leaving the Hub City.

"We graduate 10,000 students every single year, it's a great opportunity for the best and the brightest to stay right here, in Lubbock, and get a great job and help our companies grow and also, help our community grow," he says.

Osborne says though this campaign is targeting open IT positions, they have other job openings in different fields on their campaign's website.

He also tells us that LEDA is wanting to gauge the campaign to see if they can be successful in recruiting for all career fields.

This campaign began in December and will continue until August.
