LPD: 2 arrested, 1 at large in aggravated robbery
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Police have arrested two men and are searching for a third man in an aggravated robbery at a West Lubbock home.
Police were called out to a home in the 5900 block of 9th Drive around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a burglary in progress.
A woman says she was driving home when she saw three men walking down the street. She told police she became nervous so she circled the block to give them time to pass.
When she pulled into the driveway at her home, the woman saw two men at her door talking to another woman who lives at the home.
The other woman told police the two men knocked on the door to ask about a dog but when she opened the door she saw one of them holding a gun. At that point, she closed the door.
The woman in the driveway also saw the suspect holding a gun and attempted to back out of the driveway, but the suspect pointed the gun at her and she stopped the vehicle.
The suspect opened the car door and the woman gave him a Vera Bradley bag. All three men ran away.
No one was injured.
Officers were able to find two of the three suspects and arrest them.
Police arrested 19-year-old Isiah Ortega and charged him with aggravated robbery, evading arrest on foot, engaging in organized criminal activity and for a misdemeanor warrant.
Douglas Lopez Garcia, 20, was also arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in criminal activity.
Both were taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center. Police found the victim's bag and other stolen property that led them to believe that there were more victims.
Police are still searching for a third suspect.
