Cattle Baron's Ball fighting cancer on the South Plains

Cattle Baron's Ball raising money to fight cancer

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It's time again for the Cattle Baron's Ball. That's an annual event that is expected to raise about $500,000 to fight cancer right here in our community.

The theme this year is "Guitars and Cadillacs."

The group, Reckless Kelly, will be performing at the V-8 ranch on July 30, where you'll also find great food, auction items and much more.

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to fighting cancer on four fronts: research support, prevention programs, detection and treatment, and patient services assistance.

Your contribution means patients can have Hope. Even if you can't make it to the ball, you can make a donation or buy one of the 'Signs of Hope'. That means you can choose to say "In Honor Of", "In Memory of", or "Proud Supporter" on a 12'x18' sign which will line the entrance to the ranch. Signs of Hope are designed to offer a distinctive way to support the 33rd Annual Cattle Barons' Ball and join the challenge to save lives.

For tickets to the ball or information on purchasing a Sign of Hope, call the American Cancer society at 792-7128 or go to
