LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - If you like to eat raw cookie dough or cake batter, it's time to stop.
That consumer alert comes from the FDA following a massive recall of flour, 45 million pounds from General Mills suspected of e-coli contamination.
The tainted flour has sickened 46 people in 21 states, but investigators are still trying to find out how that basic ingredient became contaminated.
The FDA says thorough cooking will kill e-coli.
The problem comes when people taste the batter...which contains raw flour.
