Plainview shooting suspect now in custody

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - A man has been arrested after he reportedly shot a woman during a domestic situation in Plainview.

Plainview police responded to a business at 801 N. Columbia in reference to shots fired just before 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived they found a 40-year-old Hispanic woman who had been shot once. She was taken to UMC in Lubbock with non-life threatening injuries.

The Plainview Police Department SWAT team was called in to assist after locating the suspect vehicle on the 900 block of West 26th Street.

Investigators say this incident appears to be a domestic situation.

The suspect, 43-year-old Mark Dewayne Hallcy, was arrested  just before 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Classes at Coronado Middle School were delayed for two hours Wednesday morning as a precaution and to allow police to search and investigate this shooting.
