LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - With Lubbock City Manager James Loomis expected to retire on Nov. 18, the city council has appointed Chad Weaver as Acting City Manger.
Weaver is currently the City Attorney.
Council does not expect to have a new city manager in place before Dec. 15.
Weaver will be paid the same salary that the city manager receives during the time that he is Acting City Manager.
After discussion, the council passed the motion 7-0.
Deputy City Manager Quincy White also announced his retirement on Thursday. He will retire in January 2017.
