LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - The West Texas Polar Express is now boarding in Wolfforth and tickets on the magical ride are going fast! This is the 9th year for the real-life train ride, based on the book and movie, The Polar Express.
It boards in Wolfforth behind the city building and heads to the North Pole, offering hot chocolate, performances, and visits from Santa and his elves along the way.
The West Texas Polar Express is one of nine Polar Express train rides throughout the country. Around 400 people can ride on the train during each journey.
More than 100 cast members have worked for a year to bring the Polar Express to life, and the conductor says it is paying off.
"Get your tickets now, Christmas magic is here, come experience the Christmas magic. We're already booking up tickets so we want to encourage you to go ahead and book tickets. Over 20,000 people come and right the train this year, and so they're coming right here to Lubbock, to the South Plains," says conductor Ralph Nall.
The Polar Express runs on weekends and all week during Christmas.Tickets start at $30 for kids and $40 for adults, and they go all the way up to $60 for kids and $80 for adults for Diamond Class tickets. You can find more information and book tickets at www.westtexaspolarexpressride.com.
