Pedestrian critically injured in Friday night hit & run

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit and run accident on Friday night.

Lubbock police are searching for the driver who hit him while he was walking along 4th and Slide Road. Officers say the driver left the scene after the incident that happened just before 10:07 p.m.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old male, was immediately taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition as of Saturday morning.

The accident investigation team was called out and part of the intersection was closed for a few hours. Police don't have a vehicle description as of Saturday morning, but we'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
