LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock broke a high temperature record today.  We officially hit 93 degrees breaking the previous record high of 91 degrees last set in 1930.

The forecast calls for high clouds to increase across the Western South Plains overnight.

Low temperatures remain in the lower to middle 50's most areas with a few 60's possible towards Snyder.

Sunday brings warmer than normal temperatures again.  With a few clouds around, high temperatures climb into the middle and upper 80's.

A few models warm us to near 90 degrees.  Even if we get that warm, the record high for Sunday is 94 degrees set in 1939.

Look for gusty southwest winds and elevated fire dangers again Sunday afternoon.

A cold front moves through the area Sunday evening before midnight.  Temperatures will drop into the 40's Sunday night with highs in the 70's Monday.

Unsettled weather follows later this week with a chance of thunderstorms increasing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Severe weather is possible Thursday.
