LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Thirteen days after 64-year-old Cyrus Solenberger was hit by a vehicle in the 6500 block of I-27, police say he died from his injuries.

On Friday, March 2, around 6:20 a.m., LPD dispatch received a call that a car had just struck a pedestrian in the 6500 block of the I-27 southbound access road. The driver of the car stayed on scene and called the police for help.

Officers found Solenberger with serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Police say Solenberger died on Thursday.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, Lubbock Police Department Accident Investigators responded to the scene. Through the initial investigation, it appears Solenberger walked eastbound into the roadway and was struck by the car.

This case remains under investigation.
