Woman suspected of DWI arrested after crash involving police officer

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock police officer was hospitalized after being involved in an accident, at 82nd Street & Avenue U, around 7:48 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the officer, a member of the LPD K-9 Unit, was headed east on 82nd Street, when a car, traveling west, turned left in front of the police SUV.

EMS took the officer to University Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital.

The driver of the car, 57-year-old Patricia Holt, was not hurt.

Police arrested her on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A bond has not been set at the time of this report.

The K-9 was not injured in the accident.
