TRAFFIC ALERT: Northbound lanes of I-27 at 82nd shut down by car fire

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Northbound lanes of I-27 at 82nd Street have been shut down while first responders deal with a car fire.
Lubbock Fire Department responded to the fire in the northbound lanes in the 8900 block of Highway 87 around 4:35 p.m. The fire is out now, but deputies have the northbound main lanes closed between 98th and 82nd.
Northbound traffic is down to one lane of the access road.
The driver was not injured.
