LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Accident Investigators have shut down all lanes of traffic on 19th Street from Utica Avenue to Slide Road to continue their investigation into Sunday's fatal crash. This closure will begin at 1 p.m. and is expected to last until 4 p.m. while investigators map the scene.

Lubbock police are asking the public to avoid this area.

Accident investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are still investigating the Easter Sunday morning crash that injured one and took the life of another.

Around 10:20 a.m. Sunday, police received several calls about a crash on 19th Street and Vicksburg Ave. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two pickups had collided.

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, 80-year-old Jack Rudolph Wages, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, 22-year-old Douglas Dean Sowell, was transported to UMC with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
