LUBBOCK, TX (AP) - More wind for West Texas and another surge of cold air for the region Tuesday.
Tuesday morning begins with west, then northwest winds at 20 to 25mph. Winds will turn to the northeast around mid day and increase to 25 to 35 mph with stronger gusts as the latest cold front moves south.
The front will have a few clouds, no rain and another dip in temperatures. Afternoon highs will be in the 60s Tuesday and by Wednesday morning the lows will fall to near or below freezing. Areas from Morton east to Crosbyton and north have the best potential for a freeze, although not a hard on in the city.
Temps will then rebound to the upper 60s on Wednesday afternoon and move to the 80s on Thursday before the next cold front hits the region on Friday. This time the front has a better chance of bringing freezing temps to the area by Saturday morning.
