LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Several lanes at the intersection of 82nd St and Avenue U were closed today for the LPD Traffic Unit to finish up their investigation into the officer-involved crash on March 22, which left an officer hospitalized and a woman arrested on suspicion of DWI.

19th St between Utica and Slide Rd was also closed for investigation into the Easter Sunday crash which left one dead.

KCBD spoke with Sergeant Timothy Seeley of LPD's Accident Investigation Unit.

"When we block roadways down like we do, to do this type of mapping and this further investigation, it is an inconvenience to the citizens and the other traffic on the roadway. We apologize to be the inconvenience however our main goal is to get justice for the victims in these cases."

Although both closures were scheduled to last three hours, they both only took a little over an hour for LPD to wrap up their investigations.

We will have any new details in regards to the investigations as they emerge.
