LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One of the Red Raiders fantastic freshman, Zhaire Smith tweeted out today that he will enter his name in the NBA draft. He also said he will not hire an agent so if he doesn't like what his evaluation is, he would be eligible to return to play for the Red Raiders.

Smith scored the most points ever by a Red Raider Freshman with 417 points and he opened a lot of eyes this season, especially in the NCAA Tourney when he had an incredible 360 degree dunk.

In his tweet, Smith said " I am excited to say that I am going to enter my name in the NBA Draft without an agent. I would like to see where I stand after my freshman season. I would like to thank Coach Beard, my parents and the best fans in college basketball #Red Raider Nation"

Smith and the Red Raiders made the Elite 8 for the first time ever, ending the season with a #6 ranking.

Smith is still eligible to withdraw since he did not sign with an agent. A mock draft released today projects Zhaire as the 15th pick, going to the Suns.
