The West Texas Home Builders Association via their 501c3 Lubbock Homes for Heroes hosted the house reveal and key ceremony for new recipient, Cody Leake today.

Having faced severe financial struggles from service-related disabilities following his 10 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, Staff Sergeant Leake has been eagerly awaiting this day when he and his son move into their new home. "I am so grateful for this blessing my son and I have received. This home will provide us with more than we could dream. I can't thank the WTHBA and Homes for Heroes enough," said Leake.

Homes for Heroes and the WTHBA take care of returning military and first responders who have sacrificed so much for our freedom by providing mortgage-free homes to disabled heroes and their families in the Lubbock area.

Lubbock Homes for Heroes President, Mitchell Anderson is proud to award another veteran with a new home. "This home was previously given to Christopher R. Montez, Sergeant, USMC (ret) after he was wounded in 2004.  Christopher sadly passed away last year. His estate graciously gave his home back to Lubbock Homes for Heroes, so that we could bless another deserving veteran with the gift of a mortgage-free home. After some renovations to the home, we are excited to be able to gift this home to another deserving veteran."

Guest speakers include Mayor Dan Pope and Colonel Dave Lewis, United States Air Force (retired).
