LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Ronny Crawford, a 34-year-old Lubbock man, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and discharging a firearm in a municipality.
The charges stem from a Saturday morning incident in southeast Lubbock when police were called to 5602 Avenue B at about 3:30 a.m. for a domestic disturbance, according to a Lubbock Police Department news release. The caller advised her husband was intoxicated and threatened her children with a machete.
The caller also told police her husband fired a gun into the air and into the couple's vehicles in front of their house. The victim and children were able to leave the residence and were not inside when police arrived.
Because Crawford was armed when officials came to the house the SWAT team and SWAT negotiator were called out. After about two hours Crawford left the inside of the house and was taken into custody.
Police were also able to report he did have a warrant out already. No injuries were reported from the incident.
