LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - US Hwy 87 near FM 41 was shut down after a crash involving a semi-truck hauling propane on Monday morning. The crash happened around 10 a.m.

According to DPS, a 2007 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was headed eastbound on FM 41 trying to cross US 87. The semi was headed northbound on 87. DPS officials believe the passenger vehicle pulled into the path of the semi, causing the passenger vehicle to spin and the semi to overturn after the collision.

The Chevrolet ended up in the center median and the Peterbilt and trailer overturned in the northbound traffic lane and center median.

Lubbock Fire Department responded and stayed on scene until the truck and tanker were taken away by wreckers. The tanker had propane residue inside but there was no leakage.

The female driver from the passenger vehicle and the male driver of the semi were both taken to the hospital by ambulance and were both listed in serious condition as of Monday afternoon.

DPS says the female driver is in "critical but stable" condition as of Monday night.
