LUBBOCK, TX (AP) - Thursday will bring another chance for scattered storms, some severe for the South Plains.
Activity will begin in the western South Plains and track east with the potential for large hail, high winds and heavy rain. Rains will start around late afternoon and then end before midnight for the region.
Here's how the temps are shaping up for Thursday thru Friday. Afternoon highs will move back to the low 90s Thursday, mid 90s Friday and again on Saturday. Along with the heat comes some gusty winds. Those winds will be from the south to southeast on Thursday and then more to the southwest on Friday. That's why rain chances will be better on Thursday compared to Friday.
As for the weekend, the heat will carry over to Saturday, followed by a big change to the 70s and 80s on Sunday morning. The next weekend cold front will bring another chance for strong to severe storms.
