(KCBD) - Storms hit portions of the South Plains Thursday afternoon and evening. However, the chances of storms will be lower on Friday and Saturday.
A few storms may develop along the Caprock, but otherwise it will be warmer and windy.
Winds on Friday and Saturday will increase from the south to southwest at 15-25 mph bringing higher afternoon temps for both day and an increased fire danger.
As for temps, look for mid 90s for the next two days, then a major change in temps with a strong cold front arriving on Saturday night into Sunday. That front will drop the afternoon highs back to the 70s and 80s.
Along with the cool down the chances for storms will return late Saturday and extend through Sunday into Monday and possibly Tuesday.
Some of the storms will likely be severe with the storms arrival.
