17-year-old charged with evading arrest, endangering child after crashing car into building

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Police have identified the man who led police on a short chase and crashed his car into a building.
Lubbock Police say they were originally responding to reports of a person passed out in a vehicle in the 3700 block of Gary Avenue. When they arrived, and the officer attempted to make contact, the driver fled north. The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Aden Tovar of Lubbock.
A chase didn't last long, because shortly after it began, the driver crashed his vehicle into a building in the 3100 block of 34th Street,
LPD says it appeared the driver was attempting to turn at 34th and Gary but was unable to do so, running through the intersection, and into the building.
The driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries, and the driver has been arrested. Police say the passenger of the vehicle was a juvenile.
The Accident Investigation team has been called out, and an investigation is underway.
Tovar has been charged with evading in a vehicle and child endangerment. As of this report, his bond is set at $2,500.
