LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The First Alert Forecast Team has designated Tuesday as a First Alert Weather Day. A strong disturbance will track across the South Plains viewing area during the day Tuesday.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast Tuesday.

Some of the thunderstorms may become severe with large hail, strong wind gusts and very heavy rainfall.

Due to the slow movement of this disturbance, localized flash flooding is also possible.  Flooding concerns are most likely where recent rainfall was observed over the weekend.

This forecast could change over the next 24 hours, but there is a risk for widespread showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Tuesday.
