LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Severe weather remains in the forecast for the South Plains and a First Alert Weather Day is in effect for the area Tuesday into early Wednesday morning.

Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and again overnight into Wednesday. Some of these storms have the potential for large hail, high winds and locally heavy rain.

The current pattern indicates a continuing chance of storms from Tuesday into Wednesday and into early Thursday. So, that means that storms could move into the area overnight and also develop during the afternoon over the next few days.

Little change in temps as highs stay around the 80 degree mark the next couple of days, but will increase by Thursday and Friday and into the weekend. The nighttime lows will stay in the 60s for the region.
