Thursday morning, crews from Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. lifted and placed a 155-foot, 145-ton steel truss at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences.

According to the Lubbock Entertainment/Performing Arts Association, it's a space frame truss that will span across the entire lobby of The Buddy Holly Hall, supporting the roof structure.

The Buddy Holly Hall was designed in partnership with Toronto-based Diamond Schmitt Architects, Inc. and Lubbock-based architects MWM and Parkhill Smith & Cooper. Construction at the site began in May of 2017 and is expected to open in early 2020.
