LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Police Department along with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office and the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center were able to make two arrests in connection with a Tuesday night shooting.
Eighteen-year-old Deangiilo Hill and 17-year-old Treveon Tyler are in the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with aggravated assault, according to an LPD news release.
It was after Tuesday night's shooting investigators were asking for tips from the public in identifying possible suspects in a drive-by shooting near 37th Street and Avenue U that injured a 16-year-old woman. By Wednesday authorities secured an aggravated assault arrest warrant for Hill and were able to find him on Thursday near the 2,000 block of 50th Street.
The arrest warrant says 16 rounds were fired. Three vehicles were damaged by the bullets. The arrest warrant says shots were fired towards residences and cars as they drove off. People were in their yards and inside the homes. A supplemental police report says Hill is accused of leaning out of the car window with a gun, shooting and saying "I'm shot y'all, I am shot y'all."
Authorities were able to arrest Hill without incident and while doing so also found Tyler, who was considered a possible suspect in the shooting. Tyler was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a stolen firearm.
Hill is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond. Tyler's bond has not been set at this time.
