Lubbock woman searching for owner of lost engagement ring
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Allyson Utz says she found a small black felt bag in the parking lot of the Animal Hospital of Lubbock at 7902 Slide Rd. Inside the bag was an engagement ring, as well as a token with the initials N&K.
Below the initial is a date, which Utz won't reveal to protect the items from being falsely claimed.
In a Facebook post looking for the owner of the ring, Utz says,
"There is a date on the bottom of the token that I have covered up," Utz said. "If this is your ring, PM (personal message) me and tell me that date. I will happily deliver your lost ring."
Utz spoke to KCBD NewsChannel 11 about her attempt to keep the ring out of the wrong hands.
"Anything that's valuable monetarily, I'm sure that people that are not on the up-and-up would want to have something to do with it," Utz said. "So, I just knew that if I withheld the date, the true owner would know it's their's."
She is also adamant about not wanting to do this so someone would return the favor; she wants to do it because it's the right thing.
"I don't like people to say well I'm doing this because that's what I would want somebody to do for me. A statement like that implies that you want something in return," Utz said. "I don't want anything in return, I know what it's like to lose something that's so precious to you, and sentimental to you, and you can't find it. It's just heartbreaking."
If you believe this is your ring and token, contact the Animal Hospital of Lubbock, as Utz left her contact information with the clinic.
