SUDAN, TX (KCBD) - A Sudan police officer has been put on administrative leave after shooting a suspect Friday night while responding to a call.

Police were called to an area of Sudan at around 11 p.m. with reports of a shots fired call, according to a news release from the town of Sudan. The officer found the suspect and some type of non-detailed interaction took place.

The officer shot the suspect at the scene. The suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Texas Rangers, a branch of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
