LEVELLAND, TX (KCBD) - The City of Levelland's Parks Department will be replacing playground equipment in its Sherman Park.

The 11-year-old park is getting the new equipment after safety concerns were brought to city management a few years ago, according to a City of Levelland Facebook post. Much of the equipment sustained lots of sun damage and were vandalized over the years.

Officials found that of the other 10 neighborhood parks in the city the Parks Department spent most of its time fixing equipment in Sherman Park.

The new park will have many of the same features but will have updated playground equipment that is said to last longer and will be more efficient. This is scheduled to be a weeks-long fix and no date of completion was given.
