(KCBD) - A former administrator for Texas Tech University is now a member of President Trump's administration.
Tibor Nagy has been confirmed by the Senate Committee On Foreign Affairs to be Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs.
He appeared before the committee for his confirmation hearing on June 14.

The Hungary native retired in December after more than 14 years as Vice Provost for International Affairs at Texas Tech.
He graduated from Tech in 1972.
Nagy has also been ambassador to Guinea and Ethiopia and has advised several presidential candidates.
He will now lead the Bureau of African Affairs.
