LAMB COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - Two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on U.S. Highway 84 in Lamb County on July 6.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety now report both people have died.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 50-year-old Darrell Johnson of Littlefield and 37-year-old Jessica Comer of Lubbock were traveling east in a vehicle when it overcorrected after a lane change. The car then went into the center median of the highway, where it overturned.

Both Johnson and Comer were ejected from the vehicle because they were not restrained, according to DPS. Littlefield EMS took both to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Officials say Comer died on July 7 due to her injuries and Johnson died Thursday, nearly two weeks after the crash.
