CRASH UPDATE: Rollover caused traffic backup on I-27 Saturday night

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Four people were transported to a Lubbock hospital Saturday night after a vehicle rolled over on Interstate 27 near South Loop 289.

Police were called to the scene after 10:15 p.m. and found the one vehicle rolled over, according to a Lubbock Police Department news release. Two out of the four people in the vehicle were ejected and all four were taken to the hospital.

An initial investigation found the vehicle was traveling south when it attempted to pass a separate vehicle. At that point, the vehicle went from the far west lane to the far east lane, overcorrected and began rolling several times.

When emergency vehicles arrived on seen much of the traffic in that area was forced to detour because of emergency and clean-up efforts.

Police have not released any more information regarding the incident. KCBD NewsChannel 11 will update this story as more information becomes available.
