LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A man charged with manslaughter in a deadly head-on collision that happened in 2015 is now facing six charges of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, naming the six other people who were injured that day.
Police say Mansel was driving the wrong way in the 4200 block of E. Slaton Hwy in a Ford F150 when he collided head-on with a 2006 Chevy Suburban.
A short time later, a 2008 Chevy Impala traveling southeast collided with the two other vehicles.
Two occupants in the F150, two occupants in the Suburban and three occupants in the Impala were transported to UMC with serious injuries.
The female passenger in the Suburban, Marissa Morroquin, 24, died a short time later at UMC.
The accident happened on Aug. 2, 2015 at around 3 a.m.
Mansel is currently out of jail on $50,000 bond.
Mansel's manslaughter trial has been scheduled for Aug. 13, 2018 at 9 a.m.
