LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Forty-seven-year-old Jason Simms is recovering at University Medical Center after a crash just before 6 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 50th Street and Interstate 27.

Police were called to the scene to find Simms trapped in his pickup truck, according to a Lubbock Police Department news release. An initial investigation has found Simms was driving north on the interstate access road when his truck hit another pickup that was stopped at a red light.
