(KCBD) - The Texas Department of Public Safety has increased the reward to $12,500 for 39-year-old Jesus Alberto Villegas, a fugitive wanted out of Abilene.

Villegas stands at 5 feet and 11 inches, weighs around 145 pounds and has a tattoo on his back, according to a DPS news release. He is wanted for the sexual assault of a child and probation violation and has been wanted since 1998.

He has ties in both Mexico and Abilene and Villegas' last known address was in Abilene.

The reward will only be offered to those who submit a tip about Villegas through DPS designated avenues. Those include calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-8477, Texas the letter DPS with a tip to 274637, submitting a web tip through the DPS website, submitting a Facebook tip to the Texas 10 Most Wanted page or using the DPS mobile app.

All tips do remain anonymous.
