LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 31-year-old Robert Lee Sapia of Lubbock was indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury on Tuesday, charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Sapia is accused of sexually assaulting a child, once a week for the past five or six years, since the girl was five or six years old. The child is currently under the age of 14.
During the investigation, an investigator told Sapia that DNA evidence would show exactly what happened and he needed to do the right thing and admit what he did.
After a while, court documents show Robert said "How much time am I looking at?"
The Lubbock Rape Crisis center, CPS, S.A.N.E. nurse, Voice of Hope and the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office are all involved in the case.
The report says he would have sexual contact with the child instead of spankings as a form of discipline.
Sapia is currently held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
