LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The South Plains Food Bank has received a generous gift from Lubbock's Prosperity Bank in the amount of $35,000.
The money came from Prosperity's annual catfish fry, according to an SPFB news release. It is estimated the donation equates to around 105,000 meals from the food bank.
A check presentation is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
"Without our employees' hard work and financial support from our sponsors and community, this donation would not be possible," Harry Zimmerman, Prosperity Bank's Lubbock regional president, said in the release. "We are excited that this event has continued to be a success as we strive to support the South Plains Food Bank's mission."
