LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A family who was offering a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the theft of a U-Haul trailer taken early Sunday morning from the parking lot of Arbor Inn and Suites, has been notified their trailer has been found and a suspect has been arrested.

The trailer was taken at 3:03 a.m. from the parking lot at 5310 Englewood Ave. in Lubbock.

According to Amarillo Police, around 7 p.m. on Monday, the Randall County Sheriff's SWAT and Narcotics Unit received a narcotics tip. Police executed a search warrant at the Colonial Jamestown Apartments at 3110 Southwest 27th.

One person is facing charges after police say they found drugs and stolen property while executing a search warrant. Police say they found narcotics, stolen firearms, stolen jewelry and other stolen property inside the apartment unit.

Police say they believe the stolen property found in the apartment were stolen from seven burglaries in Amarillo, Canyon and Lubbock where U-Haul trailers were broken into.

Officials recovered 14 stolen firearms from a U-Haul trailer burglary from a hotel parking lot in Lubbock. Police say they found the guns after officers followed a person leaving the apartments and stopped them at a Toot N' Totum gas station in Amarillo.

Two trailers that had been stolen from Pampa were also found at the apartment complex.

Police arrested 39-year-old Richard Wayne Patterson. He has been booked into the Potter County Detention Center on charges of fraudulent us or possession of identifying information, felon in possession of a firearm, theft of firearms, possession of stolen property over $2,500 and under $10,000 and possession of a controlled substance.
