2 teens in custody after police find $15,000 worth of iPads

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Two teens are in custody after police found $15,000 worth of iPads and guns.

According to a report from Lubbock Police Department, 17-year-old Elijah Sanchez of Lubbock and 17-year-old Dillon McCormick of Acuff are in jail.

Sanchez is facing a tampering/fabricating evidence charge and a charge of theft of $750-$2,500.

McCormick is facing several charges, including two charges of theft of a firearm, a burglary of a vehicle charge and burglary of a habitation charge.

The report says that Sanchez told police that he and McCormick broke into several cars in a Ransom Canyon neighborhood on July 23 and then took the stolen iPads back to McCormick's home.

A lawful search warrant on the home found one ThinkPad laptop, eight iPads, a Glock 26, a Taurus PT111 pistol, designer purses, and a marijuana plant.

Sanchez and McCormick are in jail. McCormick is awaiting trial.
