(KCBD) - The National Weather Service in Lubbock Texas has issued a severe thunderstorm warning Lubbock and Hockley Counties until 5:45 p.m.

At 528 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Shallowater, or 6 miles northwest of Lubbock, moving southeast at 25 mph. A thick wall of blowing dust is moving out ahead of these storms, bringing visibilities to near 0.

The storm could produce 60 mph wind gusts.

Locations impacted include... Lubbock, Abernathy, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Lubbock International Airport, Texas Tech University, Slide, Downtown Lubbock, Reese Center, New Deal, Smyer and Lubbock Science Spectrum.
