LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Police Department has arrested 45-year-old Anthony Casias after an early morning incident on Friday that led to the SWAT team to respond to the 1900 block of South Loop 289.
The call came in at around 12:30 a.m. Friday for police to respond to a burglary/domestic dispute at the residence.
Police responded and were not able to find the Casias after the call. However, the suspect returned to the area just before 4:30 a.m. and was trying to get inside of a home around the area, according to an LPD news release.
Officers came back onto the scene and saw Casias get into an SUV. As the officer approached the vehicle Casias locked himself in the SUV.
Thinking Casias was going to drive off, the officer went back into his patrol vehicle, readying himself for a pursuit. Casias did not drive off, but instead waited in the SUV.
The officer approached again and noticed Casias had a knife and was threatening to harm himself, according to the release.
