LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 35-year-old Nazaray Bengoa was indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury on Tuesday, charged with assault of a public servant.
The incident started with a domestic dispute call in the 4900 block of 66th Street on May 14.
Officers were told a male suspect was breaking the window to a vehicle and yelling at a female.
Officers saw Bengoa walking on the sidewalk in front of a duplex with a broken window.
When an officer tried to restrain him, police say Bengoa fought back, wrestling with and punching the officer in the face numerous times.
The police report says Bengoa grabbed the officer's microphone and started hitting him in the face with it, causing the officer to bleed profusely from his forehead.
Officers were finally able to get cuffs on him and take Bengoa into custody.
