PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - Curtis Carr, a 64-year-old Plainview resident, died Friday night after he was hit while cycling near the 900 block of S. Columbia in Plainview.

Authorities were called to the scene at around 8:15 p.m. after it was reported a pedal cyclist was hit by a black SUV, according to a Plainview Police Department news release. Carr, who was identified as the pedal cyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, 55-year-old Asim Dizdarevic, was found shortly after the incident was reported. Dizdarevic was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Accident Involving Injury or Death and booked into the Hale County jail.
