LPD: Gun stolen during vehicle burglary
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock police are searching for a suspect caught on camera stealing a gun out of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1900 block of 56th Street.
Police tell us it only took 45 seconds for this suspect to walk up the driveway, skip over the first vehicle that was locked, rummage through the unlocked vehicle and take off with a gun.
Police want to remind residents that a large number of vehicle burglaries and stolen vehicles involve unlocked doors or the keys being left inside the vehicle.
Police say there were more than 350 guns stolen out of vehicles in Lubbock last year. So far this year, there have been more than 170 guns stolen out of vehicles.
