LITTLEFIELD, TX (KCBD) - The Arbor Grace Nursing Facility in Littlefield has passed a water quality inspection that showed chlorine amounts in its water were enough to kill harmful Legionella bacteria.
On Sunday an inspection found the home tested positive for Legionella Bacteria -- a bacteria that is known for causing Legionnairs' disease, which is a serious type of pneumonia. At the time the city reported the bacteria was only found at the home and not seeping into the city's water system.
After the city's inspection on Wednesday it was found Arbor Grace authorities were able to take the proper steps in protecting both residents and the interior water system, according to a City of Littlefield news release. No direct cross-contamination exists that would contaminate the water system.
Repeat samples have been taken and some results are still pending.
