Forty-eight years after the crash that killed Lubbock musician Buddy Holly, a new investigation is underway.

Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson, better known as the Big Bopper, also died in the plane crash. Now, the Big Bopper's son, Jay Richardson is planning to exhume his father's remains and have a forensic expert conduct an autopsy. He wants to settle rumors about a gun that might have been on the plane and whether his father could have survived the crash and died when trying to go for help.
